About Us
Our Vision and Mission: The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy speaks for
and with the vulnerable to work for a more just and compassionate Commonwealth by uniting and empowering Faith communities.
- Adopted by the Board of Directors, March 18, 2003
The Center was founded in 1982 after years of informal partnerships. Today it is the only non-partisan, non-profit, statewide partnership in Virginia advocating for social justice in light of our shared Jewish, Muslim and Christian values. As differentiated from a lobbyist who works for the self interest of his/her sponsoring organization, the Center advocates on behalf of the Faith community for the most vulnerable Virginians, who are the beneficiaries of our advocacy. Our grass roots efforts are enhanced by 9 regional chapters. Membership includes individuals, congregations, organizations and judicatories.
