CRIMINAL JUSTICE SOCIAL STATMENTS - EPISCOPAL
Criminal Justice
http://www.dioceseofnewark.org/conv2002/resadopt01.html#Res11
Since 1958, the Episcopal Church as officially opposed capital punishment in repeated statements and calls to the dioceses and members of this church to work actively to abolish the death penalty in their states.
The Episcopal Diocese of Newark expressed its opposition to capital punishment through resolutions in 1965, 1981, 1998 and again in 1999.
