The Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP) extends its support and condolences to members of the Jewish community who are facing shock and fear after the recent spate of desecration of Jewish tombstones and bomb threats against Jewish institutions.

“We are holding our Jewish brothers and sisters in prayer,” said Frank McKinney, VICPP Board Chair, “while uniting those who wish to see a Virginia that welcomes all.”

The Virginia Interfaith Center is a leader in fighting hate and bigotry and welcoming all to Virginia. In the last two months, VICPP has:

  • Engaged religious advocates at the General Assembly in supporting bills to track faith and origin based discrimination and calling on Virginia to welcome all, and opposing anti-immigrant bills.
  • Organized rallies standing with immigrants and refugees in Richmond and Warrenton.

VICPP currently is:

  • Developing an Interfaith Welcoming Passover Seder liturgy that people can use in their homes, congregations or communities in mid-April to early May.
  • Training congregations on how they can support and stand with immigrants and refugees.
  • Mobilizing faith engagement for May 1 activities to support immigrants.
